From “Death to America” to “God Bless America”. Is This Iran Possible?

What would a free Iran actually look like? In a recent speech at CPAC 2026, Reza Pahlavi asked the audience to imagine a radically different future: An Iran that does not chant “Death to America”… but instead says “God bless America.” An Iran that exports engineers, not extremists. A country that could even become a friend of Israel. 👇 Read the full speech and join the discussion: Full Speech: My dear compatriots, Distinguished guests, Friends of freedom, I stand before you today not just as an individual, but as a voice for millions of Iranians who have been silenced, oppressed, and denied their most basic rights. Iran is a nation rich in history, culture, and resources. Yet today, its people are among the most deprived. This is not because of a lack of potential. It is because of a regime that has chosen repression over progress, ideology over humanity, and survival over the will of its own people. The Iranian people are not asking for charity. They are not asking for foreign intervention. They are asking for something simple, something universal: - The right to choose their own future. In recent years, we have witnessed courageous protests across Iran. Women, students, workers, ordinary citizens risking everything. They are no longer calling for reform. They are calling for fundamental change. This system cannot be reformed. It must be replaced. For decades, the regime has ruled through fear. It has jailed, tortured, and executed those who dare to speak. It has exported instability across the region. It has funded terror instead of investing in its own people. And yet… The spirit of the Iranian people has not been broken. I begin today in memory of my fallen compatriots, the heroes of my country who have fought, bled, and died for freedom. So in their honor, I ask you: Close your eyes for a moment… and imagine a free Iran. Imagine an Iran that no longer chants “Death to America,” but instead says, “God bless America.” Imagine an Iran that exports engineers instead of extremists, that promotes freedom instead of terrorism, stability instead of chaos. Imagine an Iran that brings prosperity to its people, security to its neighbors, and partnership with the free world. Imagine a new Middle East where Iran is a friend of Israel. A region where old conflicts give way to cooperation, and where peace becomes reality. I can imagine it, because I have seen the true soul of the Iranian people. Unlike the regime that glorifies destruction, our people celebrate life, dignity, and liberty. To the leaders of the world, I say this clearly: Do not confuse the Iranian people with the Islamic Republic. They are not the same. Any policy that strengthens this regime comes at the expense of the Iranian people. Do not legitimize oppression. Do not empower tyranny. Stand with the people, not their oppressors. We are not here only to oppose something. We are here to build something better. A free Iran. A democratic Iran. A secular Iran, where religion and state are separate, and every citizen has equal rights. A future where: Women are free and equal Justice is independent Elections are real Opportunity belongs to all The path forward must be led by the Iranian people. But they do not stand alone. Your voices matter. Your support matters. Stand on the right side of history. Because the future of Iran will shape the future of freedom. To my fellow Iranians: Your courage inspires the world. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten. The day is coming when Iran will once again stand proud — Free, Prosperous, And united. Thank you.
Pergunta de discussão: Can Iran truly shift from ‘Death to America’ to ‘God bless America’?
